How to Use a Google Nest Device as a Bluetooth Speaker
Of course, you can always ask Google Assistant on a Nest device to play your favorite songs from any streaming service. However, if your Nest speaker can’t connect to Wi-Fi or if you want to play some offline tracks, voice recordings, or even take a call on a loudspeaker, using the Nest device as a Bluetooth speaker makes a lot of sense. Here’s how you can do it. Step 1: Go close to your Google Nest speaker or display and say, “OK Google, enable Bluetooth” to start the pairing process. This will automatically enable Bluetooth on your Nest device, and it will be discoverable to other devices. Step 2:Turn on Bluetooth and look for nearby devices to pair on your smartphone.
Step 3: You should now see your Google Nest speaker listed in the Available Devices section. Tap on it to start the pairing process.
Step 4: Tap on Pair to confirm the connection.
The Nest speaker will play a short tone to confirm the connection. Your smartphone is now paired to the Nest speaker. Play a song on your phone, and the sound output will come from Google Nest speaker instead of your phone’s speaker. Step 5: To disable Bluetooth, just say, “OK Google, turn off Bluetooth.” Your will disconnect from the Nest speaker. After you pair your phone with the Nest device, you’ll need to say “OK Google, enable Bluetooth” whenever you want to listen to music next. And your phone will automatically connect to the Nest speaker. Alternatively, you can also cast audio from your phone directly to the Nest speaker. This will save you from pairing your device and enabling/disabling Bluetooth every time on the speaker. Here’s how to do it.
